10-Year-Old Dubbed “Too Sexy” for TV!
Good Morning America raises the debate between modeling and age.
What are they putting in milk these days? 10-year-old Thylane Blondeau was dubbed “too sexy” for morning television by Good Morning America today. This prompts the question, “How young is too young” (to model, not drink milk), Styleite reported.
Obviously, we need child models to laugh in our monthly JCPenney and Macy’s clearance ads, but should she model in a high-end fashion magazine aimed for adult consumption? George Stephanopoulos from GMA said Thylane’s poses are comparable to “the sultry stares of much older models.” Styleite reports. But considering she’s been modeling since age 4, you’d think she’d know how to work her eyes.
But maybe that’s the point Vogue Paris then-Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfeld tried to make when Thylane modeled older women’s clothing in a mommy dress-up editorial spread. When the issue came out, some critics felt it bordered on “kiddie porn.”
