Kate Hudson, Fashion Designer: Actress Creating Collection for Ann Taylor
Kate Hudson is branching out: Not just the face of Ann Taylor, she’ll now be designing a capsule collection for the brand. Would you wear it? Weigh in here!
Kate Hudson isn’t just the face of Ann Taylor anymore—now she’s one of the brand’s designers, too!
According to WWD, Kate Hudson has not only just re-signed for another season as the face of Ann Taylor; she’s designing a summer capsule collection with the help of creative director Lisa Axelson while she’s at it. The line is inspired by Kate’s red carpet style, “reinterpreted” for everyday occasions.” We can only assume that by “Kate’s red carpet style,” we’re talking this:
And not this:
Said Kate about the collaboration, “Working with Ann Taylor has been a great creative experience, and there is really a wonderful connection. Ann Taylor is great at creating iconic wardrobe staples and updating them season after season. I love that Lisa Axelson is designing clothes for real women.”
What we’re loving even more, though, is that Kate is also joining the advisory council for Ann Inc’s ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative. A partnership between Ann Taylor’s parent company and the Vital Voices Global Partnership, the initiative aims to empower young women to serve as global leaders. Kate’s role as part of the advisory council will involve selecting grant proposals and serving as a mentor to high school girls participating as fellows in the initiative.
Kate’s capsule collection drops in May; meanwhile, the new Ann Taylor spring campaign, which was shot by Norman Jean Roy, breaks in February.
Tell us: Would you wear an Ann Taylor line designed by Kate Hudson?
