Adventures in celebrity parenting:
Katie Holmes Tweeted this somewhat hilarious photo of a small set of hands slapping her in the face two days ago. The hands likely belong to little Suri; the image appeared alongside the following message:
I do not have a small child, but I sympathize with Katie, because this is how my cat regularly wakes me up. This morning I was lucky enough to have her limit her “MOMMY WAKE UP MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY” activity to pawing at my elbows under the blanket; last week, however, she was feeling a little more daring and gave me a solid whack across the nose. At least that time she had the good grace to keep her claws sheathed, because the week before THAT, she clocked me in the eye and left me with a cut and a pretty good shiner.
At least Suri Cruise does not have claws. Or at least, I don’t think she does.
Oh, and in case you missed it, that hashtag is pretty exciting: Katie has signed on to costar in the upcoming film adaptation of Lois Lowry’s The Giver (BEST BOOK EVER) as Jonas’ mother. Jonas’ father will be played by Alexander Skarsgard, the Chief Elder by Meryl Streep, and the Giver himself by Jeff Bridges. Jonas himself will be played by Australian actor Brenton Thwaites.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FILM ADAPTION FOR DECADES.
Filming began on October 7, 2014; it’s due out in cinemas on August 15, 2014. CANNOT. WAIT.
Happy Friday, Bettys!
