I’m a Little Underwhelmed by Net-A-Porter’s Capitol Couture ‘Hunger Games’ Collection. Anyone Else?

Net-A-Porter's 'Hunger Games'-themed clothing line, Capitol Couture by Trish Summerville just dropped -- and we're less impressed with it than we'd hoped.

Net a porter Capitol Couture

No, seriously. I mean, I get that it was HIGHLY unlikely Net-A-Porter’s Capitol Couture by Trish Summerville  would include any of the totally wacky items I was hoping for—but is anyone else feeling kind of “meh” about what we actually got?

The collection just dropped (naturally—Catching Fire DID just hit cinemas last Friday, after all), and although we were originally promised laser-cut leather, streamlined silhouettes, and dramatic eveningwear, I can’t help but feel that the line failed to live up to said promises. Sure, there are a couple of party dresses like this one:

But the only real “evening gown”-type item is this:

CC green dress

Which, frankly, is a little boring. Not so much with the crazy Capitol fashion for Capitol Couture, apparently.

There seem to be a lot more items inspired by the clothing worn by the Tributes, both in training and in the arena, like this jersey jacket:

And even this jumpsuit:

And I’ll admit to loving this leather belt bag:

And this badass ear cuff:

Maybe that’s just me, though. At least everything is everyday wearable for non-Capitol citizens. What do you think, Bettys? Love the collection? Hate it? Don’t really care one way or the other about it? Tell us in the comments!

Be sure to check out the rest of the collection here.

  1. Anne says:

I also expected a bit more from Net a Porter, however the first dress and the jumpsuit look pretty cool.

  2. One to all is amazing and fabulous

  3. Very smart outfit for men and women both
