Time for your daily dose of cute: An IKEA store in Wembley, UK (yes, Wembley of Wembley Stadium fame) decided it would be an AWESOME idea to release 100 cats on the premises overnight—and catch it all on film, of course. Here, watch it. And then watch it again. And then AGAIN. And again and again and again:
The first time I saw this video, I was a wee bit confused. How exactly one gets from “Hey, we need a new couch—let’s take a trip to IKEA” to “OMG LET’S RELEASE A HUNDRED CATS IN IT!”, anyway? But then I discovered that the resulting footage was cut together into a commercial for IKEA, and it all started to make a little more sense. I think the best part is that the cats are all just normal cats—they’re not trained showbiz cats or anything, so everything the camera crew shot is just normal cat behavior. “If I fits, I sits” exists for a reason.
Here’s the finished advert:
P.S. Yes, I know this stunt was done quite a while ago, but still. Cats running around an IKEA never gets old.
And now we return you to your regularly scheduled programming. Carry on!
