So remember that super scary
short horror film promo showing a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Lady Gaga’s latest venture? Y’know, those life-sized dolls shaped like herself? Well, the Gagadolls have landed—in Japan, at least. Mother Monster debuted her alien clones this past Sunday at a press conference in Tokyo, and I’m happy to say that they’re a lot less frightening than that trailer led me to believe they would be. Although I do still find a little scary the fact that instead of a heart, the chests of these life-sized replicas carry messages and music from Gaga herself
For what it’s worth, though, they are INCREDIBLY lifelike. In fact, let’s play a game. It’s called Gaga or Gagadoll? I’ll show you a picture, and you tell me whether it’s Lady Gaga herself, or one of her Gagadolls. Aaaaaand GO!
1. Gaga or Gagadoll?
2. Gaga or Gagadoll?
ANSWER: Gaga! By default, that means that the real Gaga in the photo up top is the one on the right. The one on the left is a Gagadoll.
3. Let’s mix it up a bit: Which one is Gaga, and which one is the Gagadoll?
ANSWER: Trick question—they’re BOTH Gagadolls!
These suckers are still prototypes, so they aren’t for sale yet—but according to People, the goal eventually is for them to retail. The proceeds will be going to benefit the victims of Japan’s 2011 earthquake and tsunami, though, so at least there’s that.
Tell us: Would you want a Gagadoll to grace an otherwise unadorned and unremarkable corner of your living room?
