Brad Pitt + Angelina Jolie Hop on the Celebrity Wine-Making Bandwagon
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be releasing their own wine under the name of their French estate, Miraval, on March 15. Would you drink it?
Fergie isn’t the only star to have recently hopped on the celebrity wine-maker bandwagon—Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have, too!
It’s no secret that the couple owns a 1,000-acre estate with vineyards in southwestern France; called Chateau Miraval, it’s been theirs since 2008. And on March 15, Brad and Angie will be releasing wine in the US under the estate’s name. According to People, their first wine will be a 2012 vintage pink rosé; and just so we’re clear on who bottled it, each bottle will bear the label “Bottled by Jolie-Pitt and Perrin.”
Who’s Perrin? That would be French winegrower Marc Perrin. Perrin, who is well-respected in winemaking circles, was introduced to Brad and Angie by mutual friends; they hit it off, and the trio spent last summer discussing how to go about putting forth their new venture.
Miraval’s 160-acre valley has ideal grape-growing conditions. Noted Perrin to the Hollywood Reporter, “The terroir, the freshness that comes from the altitude, and the exposition of the vines are all incredible. For us as winemakers, it’s a wonderful opportunity to work with grapes that we know well, in an environment where striving for quality is the most important thing.”
Later on down the line, we can expect a line of organic reds and whites; but until then, tell us: Would you drink Miraval’s rosé?
