Does Kate Middleton accept free clothes? Designer Katherine Hooker dishes!

Ever wonder what it’s like to dress Kate Middleton? We sure have. Good thing British designer Katherine Hooker is on hand to answer our questions!

The Huffington Post recently sat down with Hooker, who is one of Kate’s go-to designers, about what it’s like dressing the Duchess of Cambridge—the biggest question, of course, being whether Kate accepts free clothes.

Guess what? She doesn’t. One of the perks of being famous is that designers and PR agencies gift a lot of fabulous clothing. Kate, however, doesn’t take them. Hooker has it on good authority, too, saying, “She doesn’t take free clothes, and I’ve heard that from other people who sent her things.” Instead, Hooker notes, “She always comes to the shop, which is nice. And we’ve sent her a few things when she didn’t have time to come in.”

Why is this? Hooker suspects that it’s largely because Kate has been wearing her designs—and those of many other designers who are now known as her favorites—since long before she became a royal, along with the fact that her fashion choices haven’t changed much over time. “Her style was fairly appropriate for the role that she’s currently in ten years ago,” Hooker noted, “so it didn’t need to change.”

According to Hooker, Kate is also “just an incredibly lovely person,” as is her sister Pippa. Parting shot: “It couldn’t happen to a nicer person, as they say.” We agree!
