Love the snappy style of the Roaring ‘20s? Heck, who doesn’t? And hey, just in case you’ve ever wished that your guy dressed a little more like Jay Gatsby, Nick Carraway, or even Tom Buchanan, have we got news for you: Men’s clothier extraordinaire Brooks Brothers has just released a collection inspired by The Great Gatsby. And how!
The collection—a collaboration between Brooks Brothers and Gatsby’s costume designer, Catherine Martin—dropped on Monday, and it’s both super slick and astonishingly accurate. According to a release (via Fashionista), it “channels the dreamlike world of pristine green lawns and lavish parties depicted in the original 1925 novel”—which, by the way, actually namedrops Brooks Brothers. The line also draws its inspiration from the film’s costumes, which in turn were inspired by archival Brooks Brothers looks. It all comes full circle, as if it was simply meant to be. The final touch? Believe it or not, it’s the labels: Sewn into each tag are both the film’s Art Deco-style logo and a reissue of the Brooks Brothers logo from the ‘20s. Love!
Want it? The collection is available online and in stores. and to give you a little more incentive to get out of the house and shop in the brick-and-mortar stores, some of them (including the Madison Avenue flagship store in New York) will be displaying some of the actual costumes from the film, too.
