The debut of H&M’s Summer 2013 collection fast approaches—it’s only a week away!—so naturally, the brand’s Beyonce as Mrs. Carter for H&M campaign is in full swing. First we got the look book; and now? We’ve got both a video AND a brand new Beyonce track. When it rains, it pours!
The song, which might make an appearance on Bey’s forthcoming fifth studio album, is called “Standing On the Sun.” It uses the titular metaphor to describe her burning desire for a certain someone (presumably her hubby, Jay-Z), because of course it makes perfect sense to equate a passionate love affair with a line of eco-friendly bikinis and beach wear. More sense than fake sequined boobs, at any rate.
Shot in the Bahamas by director Jonas Akerlund, AKA the man behind the music videos for such hits as Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” and Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger,” the video also features a lot of flying sand, splashing water, and floaty, cape-like beach wrap things—and then suddenly there is a large headdress and lots of fire. Because why the heck not? We’ve seen weirder things in fashion films before, so we’ll roll with it. Check it out here:
H&M’s Summer 2013 collection will be available in stores and online starting May 2.
