Who Wore It Better? Portia de Rossi vs. an Ostrich at the ‘Arrested Development’ Premiere

Isn't it embarrassing when you arrive at a party wearing the same thing as someone else? That's what happened to Portia de Rossi and an ostrich at the 'Arrested Development' premiere!

Arrested Development fans, rejoice! The prematurely-canceled television show’s revival on Netflix is only a few weeks away—and until then, we’ve got loads of glorious pictures from the new season’s premiere to tide us over. Everyone from Jason Bateman to Jessica Walter was on hand on Monday night to celebrate, and if the pictures are anything to go by, the cast is just as excited as we are.

But isn’t it embarrassing when you show up to a party wearing the same thing as someone else? That’s exactly what happened to Portia De Rossi. Portia, you see, hit the red carpet in a black textured sheath with cutouts on the side, one heck of a blonde pompadour on her head, and Ellen DeGeneres on her arm—and so did a live ostrich. Well, minus the cutouts and Ellen. The ostrich apparently makes a cameo in the premiere episode, so of course it got invited to the party, too. So who wore the look better: Tall, statuesque Portia, or the equally tall and statuesque ostrich?

I’m going to go ahead and call it a tie. Portia may have bling, but the ostrich has feathers—and really, how can one compare the two? And in any event, it doesn’t seem to have bothered Portia; said the actress of the cast reunion, “[It’s] such a relief. It’s so exciting. I’ve been waiting for a long, long time. So have we!

The new season of Arrested Development premieres on Netflix on May 26. Raise your hand if you’re counting down the days!
