Renewing your vows seems to be the current trend for married celeb couples—although not everyone is doing it the same way or for the same reasons. Some, like Matt Damon, are doing it because their initial wedding was small and private and only now did they feel it was time for a big party; others, like Mariah Carey… well, Mariah never does anything small, does she?
Maria and her hubby, Nick Cannon, have made a habit of renewing their vows every year on their anniversary, so perhaps it’s not surprising that they did it again this year. This time, though? They rented out the entirety of Disneyland to do it. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that Tuesday was their fifth anniversary—a landmark year for most married couples. And hey, look! Mariah took to Instagram to share the night with her fans!
According to ET, Mariah and Nick went all out with the fairytale theme; Mariah and the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Monroe, prepared for the ceremony in Disneyland’s Dream Suite, dressing in opulent princess-inspired gowns. A horse-drawn Crystal Carriage then picked Mariah and Monroe up and took them to Main Street, where they met Nick and Moroccan, Monroe’s twin brother—who, of course, were all dressed up as Prince Charming. Yes, both of them—Moroccan looked like Nick’s Mini-Me. Then they walked down the aisle as a family to Sleeping Beauty Castle, where 250 guests watched Mariah and Nick renew their vows.
Mariah captioned this one “On our way to renew our vows,” so we assume she’s in the Crystal Carriage here.
