Wondering what the big whoop is about surrounding hair oils? We tested six of 'em out to give you the lowdown!

Drybar 100 proof oil2. DryBar 100 Proof treatment oil ($35, thedrybar.com).

Perhaps unsurprisingly, DryBar’s offering was unbeatable when it came to heat styling and straightening. As you all are probably well aware by this point, I have wacky, crazy, unmanageable hair, and when I wear it down, I usually have to beat it into submission with a flat iron. DryBary’s 100 Proof treatment oil with its magic ingredient of Kalahari Melon Seed Oil  made drying and straightening my hair a breeze; even better, my mane stayed frizz-free, yet shiny and bouncy all day. It’s especially effective at sealing up split ends. Also, it smells delightful—kind of like spicy coconut. Yum.

Pro tip: I recently made the switch from a round brush to a flat brush with boar and nylon bristles (Sonia Kashuk’s ‘Brush With Fame’ set, for the curious– $24.99 at Target), and I can’t  BELIEVE I wasn’t using one sooner. SUCH A BETTER BLOW-OUT. Seriously!
