Given that Chanel’s pre-fall 2013 Paris-Edimbourg collection is chock full of Scottish influence, it’s only fitting that someone with Scottish roots would be chosen to front the ad campaign. Lucky for us, that someone happens to be Tilda Swinton, whom we absolutely ADORE. Get a load of the stunning ad images here!
Chanel Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld shot the campaign (natch), setting the actress against a backdrop of medieval tapestries. Tartan abounds in the collection—along with a whole bunch of gorgeous, sparkly jewels. For the curious, Tilda’s paternal great-grandfather was long-serving Scottish politician and officer-of-arms George Swinton; on her mother’s side, her great-great-grandfather was the Scottish botanist John Hutton Balfour.
