I don’t know about you, Bettys, but I kind of adored Despicable Me. Accordingly, I’m stupidly excited for Despicable Me 2, which comes out in just about a month. And whoever they’ve had doing the marketing for the franchise when it first debuted gets a gold star, because just when you thought it couldn’t get any better than an app that translates what Gru’s minions are saying… there’s this.
Steve Carrell, who voices Gru, made an appearance on Ellen the other day to promote the film… but he didn’t do the interview as Steve Carrell. He showed up dressed as Gru—pointy nose, huge shoulders and all—and stayed in character for the entire interview (Fun fact: Apparently Gru is from Albuquerque and likes Starbucks. Who knew?). Then he proceeded to dance through the audience, Ellen-style. It is HILARIOUS, and you should definitely watch it:
Despicable Me 2 also features the voices of Russell Brand, Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt, and Steve Coogan. It hits cinemas on July 3—don’t miss it!
Happy Friday, Bettys!
