Wowzers. Marchesa is really making an effort to become more accessible, isn’t it? We can already buy dresses from the chi-chi design house at JC Penney—and pretty soon, we’re going to be able to buy beauty goodies from them at our friendly neighborhood drugstores, too. Score!
We’re a little late on the uptake on this one (sorry, Bettys!), but here’s the dish: Last Friday, Marchesa and Revlon announced that they’re collaborating together on three new beauty collections encompassing nail polish, lip and eye products, nail art, and beauty tools. The first collection, Revlon by Marchesa 3D Jewel Appliqués, will feature eight gorgeous nail wrap designs; from what we can see of the first images, they’re likely to draw their inspiration from Marchesa’s latest collections. The nail wraps will hit US shelves in October, with two more collections, of which details are vague, to follow.
Given that Revlon’s global artistic director, Gucci Westman, has done the runway makeup for Marchesa’s past couple of shows and will be doing it again for the spring show in September, the collab makes a lot of sense—even if we’re going bonkers wondering what the second two collections will have in store for us. Keren Craig, Marchesa’s co-founder, said of their mysterious nature, “While we can’t reveal all the details of our multi-collection partnership with Revlon just yet, each collection will truly embody our brand’s feminine and dramatic spirit.”
One thing’s for sure: We’ll certainly be on the lookout for Marchesa X Revlon this fall!
