First off, a hearty congratulations to Holly Madison; her long-time boyfriend Pasquale Rotella popped the question to the former Girl Next Door over the weekend, just about four months after the birth of their daughter, Rainbow Aurora. May you have many happy years together!
That said, though, let’s take a look at Holly’s engagement ring, shall we? Here, zoom in on it (thanks to People):
What we’re looking at here is an 18-carat, cushion-cut yellow diamond surrounded by pink and yellow diamond flowers. The rose gold band takes its inspiration from the art nouveau style, and because Holly and Pasquale apparently have a thing for owls, there’s a hidden owl engraved between two of the flowers. “My fiancé designed it himself,” Holly told People, “because I told him that’s what would make it most special.” Celeb jewelry Allen Schwartz had a hand in the sparkler’s creation, as well.
…I don’t know, Bettys. I think it’s kind of outrageous. And enormous. And, um… terrifying. I mean, seriously—you could kill someone if you smacked them while wearing that thing! I do appreciate the thought that went into its design, though—especially the hidden owl—so to each his or her own, I suppose. Holly isn’t exactly the subtlest of ladies and she never does anything by halves, so a big, enormous, ostentatious ring kind of suits her, no?
Anyhoo, Pasquale proposed atop the Ferris wheel at Las Vegas’ Electric Daisy Carnival this past Sunday. Any guesses as to what Holly’s wedding gown is going to look like?
