Wondering how supermodels like Miranda Kerr start their days? Now we know!
Miranda (we do seem to be writing about her a lot lately, don’t we?) launched a web series for Net-A-Porter called “The Body Beautiful.” In it, she dishes on her best health and lifestyle tips—starting with how she kicks off her day.
Miranda’s focus in this first video is breakfast, which for her consists of two elements: Warm water with lemon, and what she calls a “power smoothie,” a green smoothie featuring coconut milk, coconut water, acai powder, goji berries, spirulina, raw cacao powder, chia seeds, vegan rice protein powder. Of course, if you’re Miranda Kerr, you can get fresh coconut water and cold-pressed coconut milk (and probably not have to worry about cracking the coconut open yourself), but for the rest of us, there’s the canned and bottled stuff. Although HuffPo compared the series to Gwyneth Paltrow’s infamously out-of-touch GOOP newsletter, I’m actually a little more willing to trust Miranda—largely because the tips she offers in this video have some support from some pretty reputable sources. Dana Shultz of My Little Celebration and Minimalist Baker (both of which are chock full of totally delish recipes that also happen to be really, really good for you) swears by swapping out your morning coffee for lemon water; I’ve also been hearing nutritionists left and right singing the praises of ingredients like chia seeds and cacao powder. Furthermore, while these ingredients can be a little pricey, they’re not so expensive as to make them impossible for us non-celebrity folk to acquire.
