Isabelle Huppert9. Isabelle Huppert

Isabelle Huppert is known as much for her unique choice of roles as for her ability in playing them. From her appearances on screen in such films as La Ceremonie and I Heart Huckabee to her stage work in The Maids alongside Cate Blanchett and Elizabeth Debicki and  4.48 Psychosis (which she did as a solo show), she goes all out with everything she does. She’s been nominated for France’s Cesar Award a whopping 14 times—and she’s also one of only four women who have won Best Actress twice at the Cannes Film Festival in the festival’s entire history Isabelle won for in 1978 for Violette Noziere and again in 2001 for The Piano Teacher.
