Can We Talk About How Amazing the Official ‘Downton Abbey’ Beauty Line Looks?

An official 'Downton Abbey' beauty line is hitting Marks & Spencer this fall -- and it looks GORGEOUS. Take a peek here!

Remember that forthcoming Downton Abbey clothing line we told you about a few months ago? Well, it looks like the merchandising train has been chugging merrily along, because now there’s this: An official Downton Abbey beauty line will be coming to Marks & Spencer this fall. And it looks amazing!

According to the Daily Mail, the 10-piece collection includes soaps, lipsticks, nail polishes, and more, all of which would look perfectly in place on Lady Mary’s dressing table. Each item bears the Downton coat of arms, and the packaging looks appropriately sumptuous, full of ornate floral designs in gold, emerald, and burgundy. They’ll hit the shelves of 250 Marks & Spencer stores across the UK in October—just in time for the UK premiere of the show’s fourth season. No word on whether they’ll be making their way to brick-and-mortar stores on our side of the pond; Today.com reports that they’ll be available online, though, and given that M&S delivers to the US, maybe—just maybe—us Yanks will be able to get our hands on some of these gorgeous-looking goodies that way. Prices will range between £5 (about $7.50) for the lip balm set to £49.50 (about $75) for the “luxury collection set,” which we’re assuming includes the whole 1o-piece shebang.

My favorite part about the whole collection has to be the quotes emblazoned on each item. They add that little something extra, and clearly great thought went into which quotation ended up on what product. If you look reeeeeeeally closely at the images seen here, you can just make them out: The Lip Balm Duo features a barb from the Dowager Countess (“No one wants to kiss a girl in black”); the freesia and mandarin-scented Signature Soaps include a comment from Tom Branson (“I’d expect no less”); and the Lip Gloss Collection goes to Lady Mary, of course (“Now stop talking and kiss me before I get cross”—perfect!).

Apparently Downton’s creators have signed a two-year merchandising deal with M&S, so we’re pretty sure we’ve got more Grantham-based products to look forward to in the future.

Tell us: Will you be snapping up these vintage-style beauty goodies in the fall?
