My Girl’s Veda is all grown up—and she’s got a little girl of her own now!
According to People, former child star Anna Chlumsky and her husband, entrepreneur Shaun So, welcomed a baby girl into the world on Thursday, July 11 in New York. Her name? Penelope Joan. Love it—there definitely should be more Penelopes out there.
Will little Penelope end up following in Mom’s showbiz footsteps, or will she take after Dad? Of course only time will tell—but the actress revealed that it could go either way. “She’s a really good mix between my husband and me,” she said. “When she’s with him, you see him, and when she’s with me, you see me. She’s a perfect mix.” And we’re sure she’s positively adorable, too!
It’s been a good week for Anna; she’s also celebrating a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for her work on Veep. In fact, she was tending to her brand new little one when she got the news that she was up for the award. “I was up because I was feeding my daughter,” she told the LA Times “My husband and I were hanging in the nursery. My manager let me know, and he was so excited that I reacted more to his excitement. It just came out as uncontrollable laughter.”
She did, however, admit that she’s glad the baby came before the nomination. “I’m so glad that she was born first, because I feel very grounded about it,” Anna continued. “I’m so terribly grateful and appreciative to be noticed for my work, which I think is what this is all about. Your community noticing what it is you do. Having her, and knowing that I’ve got to feed her when she wakes up again—it definitely keeps you on the ground a little bit. My priorities are in check.”
Congratulations all round!
