No, seriously—watching Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence TOTALLY geek out over meeting fellow Oscar winner and screen legend Jeff Bridges at San Diego Comic-Con is ABSOLUTELY the best thing you will do all day.
Unsurprisingly, Jennifer was at Comic-Con last weekend promoting The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (and rocking a crop top while she was at it). It’s also not totally surprising that Jeff was there as well, as he’s both a celebrated actor and a well-known nerd icon (the original Tron, anyone?); we assume that this time, though, he was there for R.I.P.D., which hit cinemas last Friday. It was during a round of interviews featuring the Catching Fire cast that Extra captured the glorious moment seen here, in which Jennifer spots Jeff, runs over to meet him, chickens out, runs back, and then goes totally gaga. Check it out (the big moment is at the 2:28 mark):
It’s wonderful, no? It encapsulates everything we love about Jennifer, as well as gives us a welcome respite from the artificiality of celebrity culture. I’m generalizing here, but we tend to be so mired in celebrity these days that it helps to be reminded that hanging out with famous people isn’t the norm, even for OTHER famous people. I especially love that it comes right after Lenny Kravitz, AKA Cinna, makes the statement about how one of Jennifer’s best qualities is that on top of her phenomenal talent, she’s just a regular girl.
Tell us: Would you be able to keep your cool if you met your idol, or would you freak out like Jennifer?
