Yep: The Finnish government gifted the Royal Baby condoms. Or at least, they gifted them to William and Kate. Kela, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland, set the Duke and Duchess a “baby box” full of products that’s traditionally given to all expectant mothers in Finland; big enough to double as a bassinet when emptied, the box includes baby clothes, bra pads, diaper cream, and condoms. In all seriousness, though, the baby box is actually a pretty neat idea—the tradition dates back to the 1930s and was created to give all babies born in Finland an equal start.
Tell us: Which gift do you think is the weirdest?
