Beauty Road Test: Palladio’s It’s a Wander-ful World Mascara Collection Totally Delivers On Its Promises

Whether you're looking for a boost of volume or just don't want to have to worry about using an eyelash curler, Palladio's It's a Wand-erful World mascaras have you covered!

Palladio mascara

It’s a fact of life (if you’re a beauty junkie, at least) that “special” mascaras often promise the world, but then sadly fail to deliver. For this reason, I’m not picky about my mascaras; one is usually much like another, so I mostly just grab whatever happens to be closest at hand, brush on a couple of coats, and go.

Then I met Palladio Beauty Group’s It’s a Wanderful World mascara collection ($10.49 each, sallybeauty.com). Two words, Bettys: Game. Changer.

Want to give your lashes a volume boost? Palladio has you covered. Don’t have the time or inclination to use a scary-looking eyelash curler? They’ve got you covered for that, too. In fact, these four fabulous mascaras cover just about anything you’d ever want to do to your lashes. Each one features a unique brush geared towards a specific effect; and since Palladio is known for its herbal- and vitamin-enriched formulas, you can bet that they’re chock full of good-for-your-lashes ingredients, too. Bamboo and rice wax protect from clumping, olive wax and carnauba wax condition, and film-forming polymers provide lash-building results. How’s that for fab?

I gave ‘em all a road test to see whether they delivered on their promises—and believe you me, they did (and then some!). In a nutshell, here’s what each one can do for you:

Curls Rule! Mascara: I’m not generally a fan of eyelash curlers. Oh, all right, I’ll admit it: They terrify me. What can I say? They look like medieval torture devices. No WAY do I want those anywhere NEAR my peepers!

Luckily, though, with the Curls Rule! mascara, I don’t need to worry about them anymore, because it reffectively enders those horrifying-looking tools obsolete. This super-duper curling mascara features a belly-shaped whirl wand with spaced bristles, giving you gorgeous, curled lashes without all the fuss and bother of an additional tool. Genius!

Aqua Force Waterproof Defining Mascara:  When they say this stuff is waterproof, they mean it. Seriously—I wore it when the boyfriend and I took his two young cousins swimming last weekend, and it didn’t budge all day. I still had perfectly defined lashes even after splashing around in a pool with two incredibly energetic kids all afternoon. Now THAT’S staying power.

4D Boost Mascara: I have pretty thick lashes, so I’m not often in need of volumizing formulas—but this one might actually be my favorite of the bunch. It’s got a much bigger brush than the other three with wonderfully soft bristles for idiot-proof application. Full, beautiful lashes with nary a clump to be seen? Yes please!

maXXLash Mascara: Think you need two coats of mascara for “wow factor” lashes? Not with this baby. One coat applied with the wide-gap wand included and you’re good to go. Promise.

So there you have it! Pick one (or all) of ‘em up at for $10.49 at sallybeauty.com. Love!
