Want to Work for Kanye West’s Latest Clothing Project? According to LinkedIn, You Can

LinkedIn currently has a listing for a Vice President of Production for an as-yet-unnamed "Kanye West clothing project." Hmmmm...

I’m not sure why anyone would actually WANT to work with Kanye West on his future fashion exploits—but in the event that you do (and if you do, can you please explain why to me?), now might be your chance.

Here’s the deal: There’s currently a listing on LinkedIn for a Vice President of Production for an as-yet-unnamed Kanye West clothing project. According to the job description, the VP of Production will play a “key role” in launching a new clothing line designed by Kanye. “The venture will be very high profile,” says the listing, “and, unlike those in which celebrities merely lend their name to a label, this venture will have the power of Mr. West’s creative genius at the heart and soul of it.” Your job, should you land this somewhat bizarre-sounding position, will be to “oversee all aspects of production, from pre-production to sourcing to production, building the function from square one.”

Fashionista, though, notes that the project’s goal of bringing “accessible style to malls and other outlets across America and around the world” sounds a little… well, not so much like Kanye. His A.P.C. line was more or less the male version of Gwyneth Paltrow’s comedy goldmine, GOOP; as such, the word “mall” strikes them as a bit odd. It’s possible, therefore, that the listing could be fake. I agree to an extent; but then again, it’s not unheard of for designers to release budget-friendly (or budget-friendlier, at least) lines. Stranger things have happened, and I have LONG since stopped trying to figure out exactly how Kanye’s mind works, sooooo… yeah.

There apparently used to be a listing for a CFO for the project, as well; however, it seems that it has since been taken down. Hmmm. Hmmmmmmm.

Okay, Bettys: Who’s willing to submit their resume and report back to us about the whole thing? Inquiring minds want to know!

In case it vanishes, here’s a screenshot of the VP of Production listing; head on over to Fashionista to see one for the CFO position.
