Well, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are officially husband and wife: The model and the musician tied the knot on Saturday by the shores of Lake Como in Italy. Congratulations!
According to People, the couple wrote their own vows, which they exchanged in front of 125 guests including Kanye West, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, and Brooklyn Decker. The reception that followed sounds like it was a feast fit for royalty, with such delicacies of Italian cheese, prosciutto, truffle risotto, and more; and after dinner, the perfect finishing touch: John took to the piano and performed “All of Me,” the song he wrote for Chrissy earlier this year.
But we know what you’re REALLY interested in: The bride’s dress! Chrissy wore a strapless ivory Vera Wang number for the ceremony; it featured an open back, a lifted tulle skirt, and hand-cut petal embroidered details. Although the skirt is all princess, Chrissy previously described the gown as “kind of [having] a sexier feel at the top, like a swimsuit”—which meant a lot of work at the gym.
Nor was that the only couture creation Chrissy donned during the course of the day. For the reception, she changed into another strapless ivory Vera Wang, this time featuring a micro-pleated bodice and sheared organza full skirt—and for her THIRD look for the after-party, she went for a crimson strapless mermaid gown, again from Vera Wang, with a hand-draped bodice, inverted flange skirt, and embroidered crystal details.
Alas, we don’t have pictures of the second two dresses yet; we’ll keep our ear to the ground, though, so you can be sure that we’ll update you if and when we find them. Admittedly, I’m not really sure why you’d want to burden yourself with so many costume changes during such an epic event, but maybe that’s just me. I’m sure they’re all gorgeous dresses either way, so at least there’s that.
John and Chrissy first began dating seven years ago. He popped the question in 2011 while they were vacationing in Maldives.
Congrats again! May you both have many happy years together!
