Perhaps the most surprising thing about that headline is the “starting to slip” bit. Who knew that Kris Jenner actually had a fairly decent eBay reputation to begin with?
Anyhoo, here’s the deal: Kris, along with Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, and Kendall all sell their previously worn clothing items on eBay periodically. This in and of itself isn’t that questionable; indeed, allegedly all sales from the Kardashians’ auctions benefit charities through eBay’s Giving Works program. It’s worth noting, though that Kris’ page fails to specify how much from each sale actually goes to charity, or even detail which cause or causes she’s chosen to support—so before we go patting her on the back too much, let’s take a closer look.
Surprisingly, Kris actually has quite a few positive reviews for items she’s sold on eBay in the past; recently, though, she’s gotten a couple of less-than-pleased customers. Here’s what they’ve had to say about a few items:
Kris Jenner Fifteen-Twenty Blue V Neck Silk Blouse: “There was more wrong with this blouse than the description implied.”
Kris Jenner A. L. C. Royal Blue Snap Front Halter: “Not worth what I paid, looks cheap.”
Kris Jenner Tom Ford Black Frame Oval Sunglasses: “Received item dirty with makeup on it and fingerprints all over it.”
Yikes. I suppose at least the v-neck blouse only went for around $19; the other two went for about $86 and $200, respectively.
Of course, Kris doesn’t actually manage her own eBay store; why on earth would she do that when she could get someone else to do it for her? As such, it’s possible that the fault lies with Auction Cause, the “premiere celebrity and brand auction management agency” who handles Kris’ eBay activity. Even so, though, if she’s handing items to Auction Cause for mailing without bothering to clean them off a little first… well, it doesn’t really speak to Kris’ dedication or good nature does it? I imagine her item handoffs going something like this:
“Oh, you sold these sunglasses I’m currently wearing perched on my divine little head? I’ll just drop them here now so I don’t have to do it later. Who cares if they’re covered in Kardashian grime? That just increases their value!”
But then there’s this: Why would anyone want Kris Jenner’s castoffs in the first place? I can think of dozens of other charities, or even celebrities who work to benefit charities, who would likely be worthier of your attentions than Kris Jenner. Maybe that’s just me, though.
Tell us: Would you buy something previously worn by Kris Jenner?
