5 Spring Hair Trends Like Adele and Jessica Biel’s to Wear Now
Sassy color, new lengths, ponytails and more are hot hairstyles to show off now!
On my recent trip to New York Fashion Week to style the Alice + Olivia runway shows, I was greeted with a flurry of great spring looks!! It’s all about FUN this spring with hair that’s young, fresh and slightly irreverent, so let your inhibitions go and tap into your adventurous side! Celebs such as Alexa Chung, Jessica Biel and Adele have already gotten a jump start on their spring looks.
Natural reds and sun-kissed fronts are all the rage, as are middle parts and opposite finishes. Here are five looks that will get you set for spring!
1. Low Chignon
This is one of the signature looks we did for the Alice + Olivia show. You want to make it clean and tight on the sides, and a bit ruffled in the back. Prep damp hair with Sebastian Whipped Cream and Mousse Forte. Blow dry, then section hair from ear to ear. Place the back half of your hair in a low pony tail. Apply Sebastian Molding Mud on the pony tail and wrap it into a spiral bun, pinning as you go. Bring the front of your hair back and pin it into base of bun. Finish with Sebastian Trilliant for shine and Sebastian Shaper Zero Gravity hair spray for a light weight hold.
2. Middle Parts
Middle parts are hot, hot hot! Whether your hair’s all down or fresh out of braids, you can’t go wrong rockin’ the middle part like Jessica Biel. Prep hair with Sebastian Texturizer and Sebastian Liquid Shine Polish. Put damp hair in braids overnight or dry for a few hours during the day. Take braids out and shake loose. Finish with Sebastian Shaper Zero Gravity hair spray.
3. Orange Hues
Orange in the hair is such a fun way to welcome spring. To get this look, ask your stylist to foil a few sliced sections of hair with cellophane (ask for equal parts red hot and golden blond). Cellophanes are great for a temporary look, and will have you sporting an orange hue for a few weeks like UK singer Little Boots!
4. Mid Lengths
Mid lengths are all the rage!!! Ask your stylist to cut your hair to 1-2 inches below the shoulders, with a fuzzy finish like Adele’s. Prep damp hair with Sebastian Mousse Forte and dry with a diffuser. A diffuser is an attachment that fits on the end of your blow dryer and helps add volume to the hair. Run Sebastian Molding Mud through the ends to create a “piecey” texture.
5. Mixed-Texture Pony Tails
I love this slicked back pony with the tail finished wide and fuzzy from the Michael Kors fashion show. Spray Sebastian Shine Define along the hair line and brush into a pony tail. Spray Sebastian Shaper Zero Gravity hair spray on the pony tail and slightly back brush from roots to ends. Pull apart for width.
