Elisabeth Hasselbeck has always been open about her opinions, and she rarely apologizes for the way she feels. However, this week’s episode of Dancing With the Stars got her all riled up, and even she thinks she went a little too far.

Elisabeth was apparently shocked aby the contestants’ skimpy dresses, especially Erin Andrews’, presumably because Andrews was pursued by a stalker who filmed her naked in her hotel room.

In light of what happened and as a legal [matter] — and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room,” Elisabeth said Tuesday on The View. “I mean, in some way if I’m him, I’m like, ‘Man! I just could’ve waited 12 weeks and seen this — a little bit less — without the prison time!’”

Erin called Elisabeth’s statements “a slap in the face to victims of stalking and sexual predators.”

When Elisabeth realized she’d made some hurtful remarks, she consulted her 5-year-old daughter, who suggested she call Erin and apologize. She took that advice, and followed up with a public apology on The View yesterday.

“I’m really sorry, and I wanted to offer that publicly too, even though I did follow that advice,” Elisabeth said.

  1. I can’t believe Elisabeth said this. I think she knew what she was doing – she just didn’t think there would be that big a reaction!!

  2. sometimes words just fall out of your mouth before you can stop them and then once they are out, you cannot get them back in – I give her credit for apologizing, both privately and publicly – not everyone demonstrates that much class – hopefully she has learned and will be more careful in the future –

  3. i dont like this chick in general. But it’s good she apologized. Her statement would have been a step back for female victims of crimes of that nature.
