Exclusive! Q&A with Kristin Davis
The “Sex and the City 2” star dishes about her famous co-stars, whether we can expect a third movie, body image and an embarrassing Miley Cyrus confession!
Sex and the City 2, opening May 27 has women all over the world shining up their Manolos and swigging back Cosmos in anticipation. This time around, the ladies leave the Big Apple for the glitz and glamour of Abu Dhabi, and there are countless high-profile cameos (Liza Minnelli, Penelope Cruz and Miley Cyrus to name a few). But we, for one, are most excited to see a familiar face: Carrie’s lost love, Aiden (played by John Corbett). We can’t wait to see how he shakes things up between Carrie and Big!
Betty caught up with Kristin Davis (Charlotte) for an in-depth Q&A.
How is SATC 2 different from the first movie?
The first one delved into how everyone’s relationships were going, or not going. This time, we wanted it to be totally, totally different. It’s funny and fun, and has a road trip sort of vibe. It’s a wowzer!
What’s the one thing you wish you could change about Charlotte?
I feel like Charlotte needs to own her power more. Everyone should be allowed to get mad!
What other SATC character do you wish you could play for a day?
If I could say anyone else’s lines, though, I’d want Miranda’s. She’s funny and so dry.
Which woman on set is the furthest from her character?
Kim (Cattrall) is very different from Samantha. I’m not sure if people get that. I think she knows her fans enjoy the bawdiness, so she’ll do a little bit more of that for them. But in real-life, she’s shy. She reads and loves theater. She’s not Mae West off-screen!
