It’s easy to spot the trends in colors and fabrics on each season’s runways, but when you’re busy staring at the clothes, like the sheer blouse, jacket and leather shorts combination at Mackage (above), it’s easy to miss the hot trends in makeup, nails and hair. But that’s why we’re here! BettyConfidential’s editors scoped out the hottest beauty trends at New York Fashion Week, and here’s what you’ve got to look forward to for fall 2010.
From Charlotte Ronson to Custo Barcelona (above), models were au naturale. Bare faces allowed the abstract prints at Custo Barcelona shine through. “Custo wanted the attention to be to the eyes, cheeks and lips, but in a subtle way,” said the look’s creator Maybelline New York makeup artist Reuben “Gato” Zamora. “I chose a very nude color for eye shadow, cheekbones and lips, and the trick is to blend those areas together with each other.” Zamora used brown Maybelline Eye Studio eye shadow across the lids and lash line, and blended the shadow out to meet the barely there blush he swept up to the temples. “All the features are distinct, but in a subtle way. You don’t see where the color starts or finishes.”
