New Massachusetts senator-elect Scott Brown isn’t going to be renouncing that nude Cosmo centerfold spread any time soon. No, this guy knows a thing of two about the public and the spotlight … he says those photos helped him get elected – and he’s probably right
“If I hadn’t done that … I never would have been sitting here with you,” Brown told Barbara Walters on ABC News’ This Week of the steamy photo shoot from 1982.
“It’s all connected,” he added. “I was 22 years old there and thrust in the spotlight because of what I did with the Cosmo thing.” He then offered to autograph a copy of the photos for Babs.
The interview came a day after a hilarious Saturday Night Live sketch featuring a shirtless Jon Hamm as the hunky senator:
Also in the interview, Brown disagreed with critics who said a nude spread like that would sink a female politician’s career, and he even said he wouldn’t necessarily be against his own daughters posing nude. “I would leave it up to their discretion,” he said.
