Joaquin Phoenix

I liked Joaquin Phoenix – I thought he did a good job in Signs and Walk the Line, and his acting career looked bright. But then he went all cuckoo and “quit” acting to become a hip-hop singer. Right.

The last time we really saw Phoenix was when he appeared on Late Show with David Letterman (watch it below) and completely creeped everyone out with his wild beard and standoffish manner. And then, he kind of just disappeared.

Well, Casey Affleck wants to set the record straight – he’s made a mockumentary about Phoenix and whether or not his transition to hip-hop was for real or just an act. Affleck has apparently shown the film to potential buyers, including Harvey Weinstein, but those who have seen it are being very hush-hush about it.

Most likely, they want to create a huge buzz about the mockumentary to get people interested in seeing it, but they don’t really need to – everyone’s already curious to see what the heck happened to Phoenix! (Deadline)
