Dear Jessica: I do yoga twice a week and there’s always great music playing in the class I attend but I never know the names of the CDs. Can you recommend some good music to get for listening to when I’m at home and want to find my inner yogi?
Jessica: I’m glad you asked! Sometimes the music being played can make or break your “Zen Zone”. When I’m in the mood for meditation, restorative yoga, or easy hatha stretching and relaxing, I like Adagio: Music for Yoga by Peter Davison and The Essence by Deva Premal.
When I’m doing a moderate Hatha flow, I like Grace by Snatam Kaur Khalsa or Reveal by Girish.
When I’m doing a lot of Vinyasa Flow Yoga or lots of Sun Salutations, I like to use any CD by Shimshai, such as Toward the One by Shimshai, or Yoga Music of the Heart by Wai Lana, or Yoga Zone: Music for Meditation by Yoga Zone .
I hope you find these CDs as inspiring as I do!
