A Super Reliable, Fast and Easy Solution for When You Literally Don’t Have Time to Get the Doctor + a $100 Giveaway

Walgreens Health Care clinics are great alternatives when you can't get to your regular doctor.

Health

I’m so busy right now I feel like I don’t even have time to write this post! But the really crazy / alarming thing is, I’m drafting this at the tail end of a comparatively lazy, peaceful summer. I know I’m going to be even busier in the blink of an eye, once autumn is in full swing! My life as a working mom gets a jump-start into crazy town in the beginning of September, when Fashion Week coincides with Back to School, and from there life just seems to go faster and faster, barreling through into the holidays and right into the new year. AHHHHH! The one thing that we definitely NEVER have time for? GETTING SICK!

Alas, that’s pretty much the one thing that we have to make time for, whether we want to or not, right? However, though it’s inevitable that someone in my family will need to see a doctor a few times in the upcoming months, it’s not always possible to get to our regular healthcare professionals. I love my daughter’s pediatrician, and I have an excellent GP myself, but sometimes it’s just not possible to get in to see either of them when we need to, whether it’s because of their limited office hours or our jam-packed schedules. It’s important to have a really great, trustworthy alternative for when you need healthcare, but can’t get to your doctor’s office and you don’t need to visit the emergency room, right?

That’s why I was really happy to hear that all of Walgreens’ super accessible and handy Healthcare Clinics (available at select Walgreens locations) are staffed with licensed and board certified Nurse Practitioners (some of them are also staffed with physician assistants). I think of these Walgreens Healthcare Clinics as sort of “outposts” of our regular doctors’ offices, where we can get high quality, trusted, reliable care and medical advice when we really need it, not only when we’re able to schedule a Dr’s appointment.

Open 7 days a week with weekend and evening hours, Walgreens Healthcare Clinics take most forms of insurance, which is awesome. You can make an appointment, but YOU DON’T HAVE TO! Also, they’re great if you need to pop in for a quick, routine visit (say, if you or someone in your fam has a chronic condition that needs monitoring, like hypertension, diabetes, asthma or high cholesterol). They can write prescriptions, give back to school and sports physicals, and give vaccines right in the clinic. ALSO — so cool: You can go online and check the wait times of the clinic nearest you!
