Woman to Women
Sumptuous Indulgence
Calming scents for your space
By: Mary Beth Sammons
The discovery came in a surprise package in my mailbox, a gift from my sister: a bottle of Pine & Eucalyptus cologne from London fragrance and skin guru Jo Malone. "It's the newest thing," my San Francisco sister raved about this new "living cologne" collection that she discovered on a trip to New York City.
I loved it, and I spent the rest of the day sniffing this bottled version of my favorite outdoorsy smell. My surprise package is part of a brand-new concept in fragrances called "scent surround spray." You can spray them virtually anywhere that needs a little freshening up, and they won't harm delicate fabrics.
I've been floating around my house, spritzing everything - the rug in my family room, our towels, my gym bag, my son's smelly running shoes. The idea is that you can have your own scent that follows you everywhere and will leave people wondering if you are oozing lavender and lime, white jasmine and mint, or in my case eucalyptus and pine. It fills my house with a lingering, crisp and reinvigorating aroma. Once you drink in the scent of a living cologne, you'll be a convert too. www.jomalone.com
