A "fatal attraction for cuteness" inspires Gwen Stefani's Harajuku hip baby clothes
-Mary Beth Sammons
The princess of cool, singer and designer Gwen Stefani has made her mark with her own midriff-baring creations. Now, this young mom with another baby due this August has launched her second line of attire, aimed at the hip tyke set - or at least their moms who are obsessed with decking out their offspring in pint-sized Malibu, Upper East Side, or, in this case, as junior Japanese gothic teen fashion plates.
The super cute togs are shrunk-down, G-rated versions of Stefani's backup dancers, the "Harajuku Girls," (Love, Angel, Music, Baby). The line of Japanese-inspired baby clothes - and the dancers - hail from the Harajuku district in Toyko, known as home for various teen subcultures.
In fact, like, check out these Harajuku "dos". That would make a statement in the stroller!
But now, thanks to Stefani's music and fashion trendsetting, what was once only a form of unique expression among Japanese teens can be the attire of choice for your little cutie.
