Rubbed the Wrong Way
Kate Winslet gets into a furry situation with Vanity Fair
-Carolyn French
Umm ... oops!
Five-time Oscar nominee Kate Winslet is a hardcore anti-fur advocate (and why shouldn't she be?) so when the beauty queen discovered that the luxurious rug she had lounged upon during her recent Vanity Fair shoot was in fact REAL fur, she flipped.
According to the Daily Mail story, the aforementioned publication has been forced to extend an apology after Winslet was ‘misled' - more like duped - into believing that the throw was faux.
Though one would assume being able to tell the difference between fake and real fur would be a cinch, apparently it's not so easy these days. Crazy right? The things they can do...
Just to add a dollop more of confusion to the mix, it appears that there was imitation and authentic animal pelts at the scene of the crime.
"Although there were both real and fake furs on the set, the fur used in the photograph is real," a spokeswoman for Vanity Fair affirmed. "We thought Miss Winslet was aware of this and we're sorry for the miscommunication."
Mmmhmm. Kudos to Kate for sticking to her guns, animals deserve to keep their winter coats!
