10 Chick Flicks NOT to Watch After a Break-Up
Stay away from these movies for at least six months after a difficult split.

Nothing helps to ease the pain of a break-up like a good chick flick—except maybe a really strong margarita. But during the post relationship recovery period (or PRRP), it’s important to choose the right movie to help you get over your broken heart, because the wrong choice could end up making you feel even worse.
So if you find yourself trying to get over a bad break-up, do yourself a favor and move these titles to the end of your Netflix queue, hide the DVDs, and save them for another day when you’re a little more emotionally stable, and less likely to fall victim to a horribly embarrassing drunk-dial.
10. The Break-Up: There are some things in life you just don’t do, and watching Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston in The Break-Up while going through a break-up is one of them. Think of it like climbing out the window of your 4th floor apartment and stepping on to the ledge—in rollerblades. It’s not a good idea.
9. It’s Complicated: Your rational self may be able to handle this one, but your less sensible side, which we all know takes over after a break-up, will have you seriously considering the idea of being “the other woman.” Because let’s face it–whatever is going on between Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin’s characters may be complicated, but it sure as hell looks like fun.
8. Jerry Maguire: As much as it pains us to put this one on the list, trust us—it’s necessary. Besides the whole living room scene at the end, which gets you every time, it’s the only movie that you and your ex both loved, so it’s bound to bring back some painful memories of happier times when you believed that he really did complete you.
Watching Leonardo DiCaprio sink will break hurt your heart. Up next…
