4. Kristi Yamaguchi – Figure Skater
Do we even need to list Kristi Yamaguchi’s accomplishments? Leading up to and after her 1992 Winter Olympics gold medal, she became one of the most lauded figure skaters of her generation. She took her winning spirit all the way to first place on the 6th season of DTWS, during which she managed to score perfect 90s for three of her dances—the only dancer who has done so in the show’s history. Impressive!
5. Apolo Ohno – Speed Skater
The most decorated American Winter Olympics athlete of all time, speed skater Apolo Ohno has scored two gold, two silver, and hour bronze medals in the 2002, 20046 and 2010 Games. He also appeared on the 4th season of DWTS, and like Kristi Yamaguchi would do after him, he took the top prize. Fact: Saters tend to do well on the show. Coincidence?
6. Shawn Johnson – Gymnast
This bracket is just full of winners, isn’t it? After winning the 2008 Olympic gold for her balance beam performance and silvers for each of the all-round and floor routine categories, Shawn went on to take first place in DWTS’s 8th season. Score!
Up next: Boxers, tennis players, and volleyball girls, oh my!
