Although there was some controversy over Floyd’s competition in the1996 Olympics—he was the gold medal favorite, but only one the bronze—he went on to have an enormously successful career afterwards. Of course this included an appearance on DWTS during the show’s 5th season. Alas, his lightfootedness in the boxing ring didn’t translate well to the dance floor; he was eliminated fourth.

9. Misty May Treanor – Volleyball Player

Misty May Treanor

Volleyball player Misty May Treanor has played in three different Olympics—the 2000 Games in Sydney, the 2004 Games in Athens, and the 2008 Games in Beijing. Though she and her partner, Holly McPeak, finished fifth in 2000 due to an injury, she and her 2004 partner, Kerri Walsh, won the gold—and impressively, they didn’t lose a single game in all seven matches. Misty and Kerri gave a repeat performance in 2008—but unfortunately when she was set to make her appearance in the 7th season of DWTS later that year, she ruptured her Achilles tendon and had to withdraw. Ouch!
