There’s Americana… and then there’s Americana turned on its head. That’s what Pleasantville does, and it’s marvelous. Sure, the ‘50s may look all idyllic in reruns of Leave It to Beaver and Father Knows Best, but gee, isn’t life better when it’s (literally) in color?
