2011 Emmys Countdown: The Good Wife’s Christine Baranski!
Harvey wraps up his 2011 Emmys Countdown with his pick for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama: Christine Baranski!
This is it! My last big gay prediction for actresses at this year’s Emmy Awards on September 18th. Who is the actress that is so incredibly talented in everything from Broadway to film to TV that definitely deserves to win Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama? Well, this woman has mastered it all and continues to reign supreme on the CBS drama The Good Wife. Of course it’s the one and only Christine Baranski!
I absolutely fell head over heels in love with her as Cybill Shepherd’s hard drinking friend Maryanne Thorpe in the 90’s CBS sitcom Cybill. Remember “Dr Dick”? So hilarious! Take a look!
And of course you would have to take my gay card away if I didn’t mention her in the fabulous role of Katherine Archer in the film The Birdcage with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane. I’ve seen it a million times and it’s always funny!
As Diane Lockhart on The Good Wife, she brings that same kind of sophisticated control which is sometimes humorous and always perfectly played! Christine Baranski is among the best of the “actor’s actors”: Glorious to watch and never predictable!
So there you have it, girls: My picks for The 2011 Emmys! Go Christine! The statue belongs to you! I hope to see all of you on the Red Carpet Sunday night– and I hope I don’t have a wardrobe malfunction!
