11. Barbara Streisand
Barbara Streisand’s long-awaited performance was a tribute to composer Marvin Hamlisch, who was nominated for no fewer than twelve Oscars over the course of his storied career. He won three of those nominations in one year, taking the awards for Best Original Dramatic Score for The Way We Were, Best Original Song Score and/or Adaptation for The Sting (which, by the way, is one of my all-time favorite movies), and Best Original song for the title track of The Way We Were—which Barbara sang again for him last night. Awww.
