Since Custa Barcelona’s Custa Dalmau played off of Beauty and the Beast for Fall 2013, Duffy did as well in creating the hairstyle for the show. “There’s real juxtaposition in the hair,” Duffy noted. “Soft and hard, light and dark, shiny and matte textures.” The result? A head divided by a narrow French braid.
We like the idea of wearing this look on a night out. Here’s how to get it:
1. Separate a quarter-inch section of hair starting at the front of your forehead and moving back to the nape of your neck from the center of your head.
2. Fully saturate this section with Oribe’s Maximista Thickening Spray ($28, oribe.com). Then French braid it tightly to the scalp from the front to the back.
3. Spray the rest of your hair liberally with more Maximista Thickening Spray, making sure you hit everything from the roots to the hairs. Comb your hair flat to your head.
4. Take the ends of your hair and knot them up into loose buns to add texture. Then undo the buns and spray the ends with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($39, oribe.com). Ta-da!
