4. NYX Love in Florence eye shadow palette ($8, nyxcosmetics.com).
NYX has TONS of gorgeous new eye shadow palettes out for spring—including their “Love In…” collections. There are three of ‘em: Love in Rio, Love in Paris, and Love in Florence. If you’re a minimalist, Love in Rio will probably appeal to you; available in 22 color combinations, each palette features three coordinating shades to give you just the right day or night look with as little fuss as you could want. Into elaborate eye makeup? You’ll want to check out the 12 Love in Paris palettes, each of which features nine colors to mix and match at your whim.
If, however, you’re like me and prefer something in between those two extremes, head right on over to Love in Florence. Each palette features five shades—enough to give you options, but not so many that you get overwhelmed with choices. My Love in Florence palette of choice is Gelato for Two; full of shimmery and matte grey, peach, and plum shades, it’s a green-eyed gal’s dream. My favorite color combo involved brushing the matte plum shade over the lid, using the sparkly deep purple one in the crease, and finishing off with a little of the matte lilac shade on the brow bone. If, however, you’d rather work with blue and silver shades, brown and green ones, or just about any other color combination you can think of, though, there are 10 different palettes to choose from.
Pro tip: Finish off your look with a slick of NYX’s Butter lip gloss in pale pink Éclair ($5, shop.nordstrom.com). Creamy, sheer coverage that doesn’t leave you feeling like your lips are covered in gunk? Yes please!
