10. Robert Redford
Robert Redford has spent decades as a supporter of environmental causes. He’s spent over 30 years on the board of the Natural Resources Defense Council, a massive non-profit, non-partisan environmental advocacy group that runs programs covering everything from water to land and from health to biodiversity; he founded Sundance Preserve, which is geared towards inspiring positive social and environmental change through the arts and education; he’s won the 1993 Earth Day award and the 1987 United Nations Global 500 award; and in 2007, he ran a weekly three-hour slot on Sundance TV called “The Green,” which was dedicated entirely to the environment. Keep on keepin’ on, Sundance Kid!
Happy Earth Day, everyone!
