We all know that this time of year is crazy busy, and traveling is a big part of the madness. Hopping on planes, trains, or driving long distances to visit family and friends for the holidays is a regular, and sometimes frequent, occurrence.
As fun and exciting as traveling can be, it can also take a toll on you, both mentally and physically. Air travel especially can leave your skin looking dry, tired and pale. No woman wants to be seen in those holiday family photos looking like that. Here are some of our favorite products to keep you looking cute and refreshed despite dry airplane air, snow, long hours of travel, and minimal sleep.
The best way to keep skin moist and from dehydrating is to regularly use moisturizing lotion. Hands become especially cracked and dry through the winter, so grab a travel size tube of hand lotion to throw in your travel bag. Bliss High Intensity Hand Cream To Go ($8, sephora.com). This hand lotion is great because it hydrates hands without being greasy, and smooths out those rough cuticles.
2. Eye treatment.
Lack of sleep leaves eyes puffy and can accentuate dark circles, as well as create new ones. Skyn Iceland Icelandic Relief Eye Pen ($20, skyniceland.com). It gets rid of fine lines, puffiness, dark circles, and soothes and revitalizes skin with all-natural ingredients.
3. Makeup removing wipes.
Sephora Express Cleansing Wipes ($9, sephora.com) and are great to have on hand while you fly to keep you feeling fresh during a long flight. The pop up wipes are easy to use to wash your face and hands, washing away the grimy feeling you get when you travel. Plus, they can help keep you free of nasty cold germs during those winter months.
4. Travel toothbrush.
Brushing your teeth while on the go can make you feel much more refreshed than just popping a mint or stick of gum. All drugstores and most other general convenience and grocery stores sell travel toothbrushes, so it is super easy to pick one up, along with a travel tube of toothpaste, and throw it in your travel bag. Colgate Wisp portable mini brush ($7.99 for 16, drugstore.com) are small enough to fit into a pocket, yet work as well as a regular sized tooth brush. Best of all, they’re pre-loaded with toothpaste-no need to buy it!
