8 Reasons I Want Randy Fenoli of ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ to Be My Best Friend
Do you wish Randy Fenoli of TLC’s ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ and ‘Randy to the Rescue’ was your best friend as much as we do?
I have kind of a weird love-hate relationship with TLC. The television network, I mean—not tender loving care (no one should ever have a love-hate relationship with tender loving care). Sometimes I think that its programming is the modern-day equivalent of a circus sideshow: Something that allegedly seeks to illuminate unseen and underrepresented portions of society, but which mostly just puts strange and unusual individuals up on stage for the rest of the world to gawk at. I find this troubling.
That said, though, I love the wedding shows.
I’m particularly fond of Say Yes to the Dress and Randy to the Rescue, mostly due to the wedding dress wonder that is Randy Fenoli. Oh, okay, so a lot if it is also because of the dresses (who doesn’t secretly love scrutinizing a whole series of spectacular formal gowns?), but there’s a reason I prefer the New York shows to the Atlanta ones, and that reason is Randy.
The fashion director for chi-chi New York bridal salon Kleinfeld, Randy is one of the most delightful human beings I’ve ever not-actually-met, and for that reason, I can watch him find dresses for brides-to-be until the proverbial cows come home. He’s exactly the kind of person you want helping you find your wedding dress, and as a result, I harbor a not-so-secret desire for Randy to be my best friend. Am I alone here? I’m pretty sure I’m not, but I figured I’d ask anyway. Here are eight reasons why I want Randy to be my best friend; what are the reasons on your list?
1. He’s always positive.
This is key. Randy is always fun to be around, and his positivity is infectious in the very best way possible. I mean, just look at that grin he’s always got spread across his face! A smile goes a long way!
2. He genuinely wants to help as many people as he can.
Sure, helping people find the perfect dress is what he gets paid to do, but he’s pretty selfless when it actually comes to doing it. It may seem like a little thing, but in actuality, it’s huge.
3. He’s also genuinely happy for the people that he helps when everything works out in the end.
The big thing to note here is that Randy is happy for the people he helps—not for himself for having found the perfect dress for yet another bride.
4. He knows how to handle a crisis.
If a bride starts freaking out, you can always count on Randy to be a little oasis of calm, complete with a warm hug and a shoulder to cry on if it’s needed. Then he gets down to business, which leads to…
