Miley Cyrus

“Tonight, for me, was not a good night.” Those were Simon Cowell’s final words for last nights Top 11 American Idol episode and I have to say that I agree with him. Honestly, there are four contestants (based on tonight’s performances) that would never have been in any other top 11 for any other season. I’m not a hater and I love Idol, but after last nights show this article definitely has a “not so nice” Gina tilt to it.

First up — Miley Cyrus — mentor? REALLY? I get the fact that she’s cute. Sure she’s sold 15 million albums, but this was the Billboard Hot 100 episode. Is Fox really hurting that badly for ratings? While I admire Miley’s success, I have to admit I found it highly comical when she would critique some of the best performers!

Aaron Kelly

Aaron Kelly sang Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing,” and in my opinion, he was great. Ellen threw a lot of jokes around, saying he was good for being a third grader. Even Ryan got in on the act by calling him David Archuletta, but seriously, he’s a great singer with a great voice and really deserves to be in this competition!

  1. Seriously. Miley’s success is based upon 12 year old girls who loved her tv show and not real talent. How dare she criticize actually talented people!

  2. MILEY?! She’s done well because her major audience are a bunch of little kids who don’t know any better. But really, she doesn’t have enough credibility to critique others.
